FALL WORKSHOP WITH MASTER PRINTMAKER DON GORVETT

At the DON GORVETT STUDIO & GALLERY, Beacon Marine Basin, 211 East Main St, Gloucester, MA.

REDUCTION WOODCUT WORKSHOP

Thursday afternoons, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., October 15, 22, 23, November 5, 12, 19. The price for six sessions is $615.00. Six spots are available. All supplies are included. Purchasing a new toolset is optional. All skill levels are welcome.

Registration is open for Don Gorvett's fall workshop on reduction woodcut at the Beacon Marine Basin, overlooking Gloucester Harbor, in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

The workshop will cover block design, tool & press usage, relief printing techniques, and color theory as an integral part of the process. Art history, woodcut printing in the twentieth century, and selections from Don's classical music collection will be part of the conversation throughout the course. The goal is for participants to understand the intricacies of relief block printing and create an edition of ten prints.

Workshops are limited to six participants, and we welcome all skill levels. We supply the woodblock, oil-based relief ink, some paper, and studio carving tools. Please bring a sketchbook for drawing and note-taking, drawing implements, and paper towels for clean-up. You are welcome to bring your own carving tools, or new toolsets are available for purchase; studio carving tools are available during the workshop.

The price for a six-session workshop is $615.00. All supplies are included; a new toolset purchase is optional. All skill levels are welcome. A $100 deposit will hold your spot. The balance is due on the first day of the course and payable by check made out to Don Gorvett Gallery.

The Don Gorvett Studio, The Don Gorvett Gallery, and its employees or volunteers assume no responsibility for any loss, personal or physical. By enrolling in a course with Don Gorvett, participants may be photographed in class for future teaching and promotional efforts for the Don Gorvett Studio or the Don Gorvett Gallery.

To register and hold your place in the course, please email info@dongorvettgallery.com with your name, address, and phone number, and send a $100 deposit check to Don Gorvett Gallery, 123 Market St., Portsmouth, NH, 03801. You can also pay by phone at 603-436-7278. The balance is due at the first class. 

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

If you need to withdraw from the workshop and request a full deposit refund, you must do so two weeks before the class begins. Otherwise, we will refund 50% of your deposit unless you or we find a replacement, in which case we will refund the full deposit. Once the course begins, no refunds will be issued. If, for any reason, the Don Gorvett Studio cancels, we will notify registered participants and refund all fees. If the course does not meet a minimum enrollment of three, we will cancel it within two to four business days before the class begins.
