Ralph Gorvett was Born in Boston and grew up in Somerville, Cambridge, Tewksbury, and Burlington, Massachusetts. He attended Burlington High School, where he studied art with Elinor Marvin and Priscilla Kilgore. Ralph was awarded the Globe Scholastics High School National Gold medal in 1967 for Drawing. He attended The School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts where he majored in Sculpture and drawing, and as a freshman won 2nd prize for drawing in the annual Boit Show . He graduated from the Museum School in 1971 with a diploma, and soon moved to Scituate, and finally Gloucester, Massachusetts.
